A Beautiful Wedding in NC

Emily’s story:

Although my sisters & mom made me try on so many dresses, I ended up choosing the very first dress I picked out at the very first dress shop! I felt like a Disney princess – it had a layered skirt that was perfect for twirling & the most delicate touch of lace at the top. I finished the look off with big, dangling, sparkling earrings that matched my ring! I also had my bridesmaid in lavender & plum – they had the same style dress, but stood every other with the two colors. It turned out so beautifully!

We met in elementary school – we were in the same second-grade class! We didn’t start dating until junior year of high school & were engaged after 6 years together. He proposed to me in the same spot he asked me to prom – on the roof of his childhood home that overlooks the most beautiful pond & land.

The most special moment for me on my wedding day was holding hands & talking before the ceremony – it was so calming & all felt real when we touched & laughed (but still couldn’t see each other). I will also cherish the moments just before walking to the barn with my dad – it was the only quiet moment of my whole day & we just loved spending those moments together before he gave me away. Then, just dancing all night with my family & friends – my wedding is the most fun party I’ve ever been too!!!

Advice: Hire a wedding planner that you love & trust! That made all the difference for me – Janna made me sane throughout the whole process. Also, go on a honeymoon far, far away right after your big day! It was our favorite experience ever – we left for Greece getaway the day after our wedding.
